The Legacy League is one of the USA’s premier developmental baseball leagues that develops collegiate players both on and off the field.  It is exceeding its own expectations.

Just two weeks into the 2026 season program, one of the League’s participants, John Miedreich, is now heading to the MLB Draft League.  Wow !!!

Miedreich, a student at Stony Brook University, is Legacy League’s first player advancing to the next level. Next week, he will participate in the MLB Draft League Combine in Arizona.

This week, Legacy League is bringing to Jackson Tyrone Brooks.  Brooks is the MLB Senior Director of Workforce Development. Now in his 31st season in professional baseball, Brooks is known for his staff work with the Atlanta Braves and work with the Office of the Commissioner at Major League Baseball. His baseball experience includes work in major league administration, scouting and player development.

Brooks said: “We want everyone to have a chance to play at the highest level possible on the field, but if that doesn’t mature, we want to open doors of opportunity for everyone to pursue their baseball interests in the many areas available across that landscape and the careers that await.”

Legacy League’s front office staff include Tim Bennett (Commissioner/Player and Business Development) and Clint Johnson (Deputy Commissioner/Player Development). League and Team Owners consist of Tracy McGrady, Andruw Jones, Brian Jordan, Jair Jurrjens, Marquis Grissom, Bernard Gilkey, and Co-Owners Lary Aaron and Chico Patel.

The league is playing a 20-game season, with games played nearly every evening through June 29th. All games and teams play at Jackson’s Smith-Wills Stadium.
