JXN Indie Music Week marks 10 years of culture and vision
Jackson Indie Music Week recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of shining a spotlight on Mississippi’s homegrown musical talent. Founder Brad Franklin reflected on the memorable moment stating, “Ten years of JIMWeek is more than just a milestone, it’s the beginning of the next phase of our festival.”
This year’s lineup included a dynamic mix of showcases, panels, and community events, each offering a glimpse into the future of Mississippi music and culture.
With a surge of fresh new talent stepping into the spotlight, the 2025 festival embodied a generational shift. “We had an entirely new wave of artists participate this year. It’s as if we’re watching a new generation blossom before your eyes,” Franklin said.
Growing in popularity as a “hold the date” music festival in the state, Jackson Indie Music Week holds a unique place in the hearts of both artists and audiences. Its impact extends beyond stages and soundchecks, it’s a cultural homecoming that fosters unity and creative freedom.
This year’s milestone celebration saw record attendance, with community members showing up in full support to enjoy a safe, vibrant week of performances, panels, and pop-up events.
