Goodman, Mississippi – On Thursday, April 9, 2026, the Holmes Community College (HCC) staff, students, and alum welcomed all to the 2026 Sports Hall of Fame inductees’ ceremony held at the Frank Branch Coliseum.
A crowd of well-wishers gathered just outside the campus Coliseum, dressed in spring attire, greeting each other with kisses and long handshakes turning into hard hugs and ending in loud laughter, signaling it’s been a long time since they had seen each other
The official welcome was delivered by HCC President Dr. Jim Haffey. The room was filled with Hall of Fame inductees, their family members, old friends, and beloved former staff members walking the halls and sports fields with inductees as they set the standards by which they are now graded to be Hall of Famers.
The HCC 2026 Sports Hall of Fame inductees were presented by Athletic Director Andy Wood. They are: Dr. Charlie Smith (’72 Football and Track & Field); Arthur Hitchcock (’73 Football); Terry Seals (’80 Football); Rashad Williams (’98 Soccer); Stephen Waggener (’02 Baseball); Chelsea Raines-Germany (’09 Softball); and Daryl Macon Jr. (’16 Basketball).
Closing remarks were given by Matt McCrory, President of HCC Alumni Association.
