On Sep. 24th, the Delta Harvest Neighborhood Market returned to Jackson Medical Mall as the Itta Bena Economic & Culture Alliance (IBECA) continued its effort to connect Delta farmers with consumers in Jackson. The monthly market offered shoppers fresh food and family friendly savings, including Mississippi grown sweet potatoes, squash and field peas, along with special offerings such as the Family Savings Bundle and Fresh Pick Five. Led by IBECA Executive Director Tracy Johnson, Delta Harvest is working to develop a regional food system model that creates dependable demand for products grown by Delta farmers while expanding access to fresh and affordable food for Jackson area families.
