On October 21, the groundbreaking for The Village at Livingston Place began a new era for revitalization in one of Jackson’s oldest neighborhoods and will spark new commercial growth that compliments the Jackson Medical Mall corridor and will invite investors to reignite the vibrance the area once held, said Senator John Horhn.
Located in the old Hood Furniture Manufacturing facility on Livingston Road, The Village will have 195-200 new homes predicted to sell from $220,000 to $250,000 in the first phase. Commercial and retail along with hotels and grocery stores will be added later. Prominence Homes has been selected as the home builder for the project.
“This project represents one of the most important housing developments in Jackson over the past generation,” Senator Horhn said. “It will help in the revitalization of the entire community.”
The Village at Livingston Place is being developed by Retail Specialists of Birmingham, Alabama. It is their first development in Mississippi. Benchmark Engineering of Flowood will be project engineer for the development and Construction Services, LLC of Flowood will perform the site work.
