The majority of student athletes who play sports in high school, generally, look forward to making a career of it later in life. Clarksdale High School graduates, JT Gray and Elgton Jenkins, did just that shortly after graduating from Mississippi State University where they played college football under Coach Dan Mullen. Gray currently plays for the New Orleans Saints and Jenkins currently plays for the Green Bay Packers. However, they felt the need to unite again for the 2nd Annual Gray and Jenkins Backyard Dawgs Youth Football Camp. The event took place Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Clarksdale High.

Their visit allowed them to spend quality time in their hometown with approximately 300 young, aspiring football players from several different school districts. They both encouraged the youth to surround themselves with people who are positive with the understanding that everyday will not be the same; yet, by staying on the right path, they will be able to make major contributions to others in the near future.
