JANS – William Bradford, an esteemed high school mathematics teacher at Murrah High School, has been honored with the title of Teacher of the Year by the Mississippi Council for Teachers of Mathematics. Chosen from a pool of highly-qualified nominees statewide, Bradford stood out due to the impressive content of his instructional background, active involvement with students beyond the classroom, and unwavering dedication to cultivating the next generation of mathematical minds.

With six years of teaching experience, Bradford, a proud resident of Jackson, Mississippi, currently serves as the Math Department Chair at Murrah. His teaching repertoire includes a diverse array of math courses, such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Advanced Math Topics, Essentials of College Math, and AP Calculus AB. His academic journey saw him earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Jackson State University.

In 2022, Bradford not only earned the distinction of being named the Murrah High School Teacher of the Year but also received the prestigious Star Teacher award. This dual recognition underscores his exceptional commitment, innovative approach, and profound impact on students. He consistently endeavors to make mathematics pertinent, captivating, and accessible to all his students.
