Horhn expands transition team
JANS – Mayor-elect John Horhn announced the addition of two distinguished co-chairs and eight accomplished at-large members to his Mayoral Transition Team, expanding the leadership structure that will guide Jackson’s transition to new municipal leadership.
NEW CO-CHAIRS APPOINTED
Carol Palmer, a respected entrepreneur and community advocate, and Dr. Beverly Hogan, retired Former President of Tougaloo College, have been named as additional co-chairs of the transition team. Both women bring decades of leadership experience and deep community connections to the transition process.
Palmer, known for her cultural expertise and business acumen, has been instrumental in promoting Jackson’s arts, culture, and economic development initiatives. Dr. Hogan served with distinction as President of Tougaloo College, one of Mississippi’s premier historically Black colleges and universities, where she championed educational excellence and community engagement.

The Mayor-elect has also announced the selection of eight At-Large Transition Team Members who will provide specialized expertise across key sectors:
