Mayor Errick D. Simmons applauds Greenville (MS) Alumni Chapter and honors Eddie Charles Brown as Lifetime Achievement Award recipient
JANS – Mayor Errick D. Simmons commended the Greenville (MS) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for its outstanding representation at the 90th Southwestern Province Council Meeting and celebrates Brother Eddie Charles Brown on receiving the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
This year’s council meeting brought together more than 1,400 Kappa Alpha Psi brothers from across New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas – demonstrating a powerful commitment to leadership, service, and excellence. The City of Greenville was represented under the leadership of Polemarch Senator Derrick T. Simmons, continuing a strong tradition of impact and brotherhood.
A defining moment of the weekend was the recognition of Greenville’s own, Brother Eddie Charles Brown, whose life reflects decades of unwavering service, professional achievement, and community leadership. His legacy – rooted in mentorship, faith, and commitment to uplifting others – stands as a shining example of Kappa Alpha Psi’s guiding principle: “Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor.”
Mayor Simmons issued the following statement:
“We are incredibly proud of the Greenville (MS) Alumni Chapter for representing our city with excellence on a regional stage. Brother Eddie Charles Brown’s recognition as a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is not only well-deserved – it is a testament to a life dedicated to service, leadership, and lifting others. His impact reaches far beyond Greenville, inspiring generations to lead with purpose and integrity.”
The Greenville Alumni Chapter also celebrated the initiation of new members – Malcolm Davis, Joshua Jenkins, and Lamoyne Taylor – marking the continuation of a legacy grounded in achievement, scholarship, and service.
“This gathering was more than a meeting – it was a movement,” added Mayor Simmons. “It reflected the power of unity, the strength of brotherhood, and the continued commitment to building stronger communities.”
The City of Greenville congratulated the Southwestern Province, Province Polemarch C. Jerome Brown, newly elected provincial officers, and all Kappa Alpha Psi members for a successful and impactful council meeting.
