Community Fair recognizing World Homeless Day 2023

JANS – Stewpot’s Opportunity Center, in conjunction with the City of Jackson’s Office of Constituent Services and Jackson State University’s Office of Community Engagement, will host a Community Fair in recognition of World Homeless Day 2023 on Tuesday, October 10, from 12 Noon to 4 p.m. at 845 West Amite Street, Jackson, MS 39203. This event is intended to draw attention to the needs of people who experience homelessness locally. 

There will be live entertainment from MikeRob & Friends, a talent exhibition featuring persons experiencing homelessness & food vendors providing meals to the homeless free of charge. Community partners at NAMI, Hinds Behavioral Health Services, Mississippi Housing Partnership, the Central MS CoC, Butterflies by Grace, Together We Care and Jackson Medical Mall Care4Me mobile unit, to name a few, are some of the resources joining this effort. There will also be special guests from state and local government stopping by. 

Stewpot Community Services provides assistance, at no charge, to people in need of physical and spiritual nourishment. Through its ministries, Stewpot serves people who are hungry, poor, and homeless, offering food, shelter, clothing, mentoring, care, and concern.
