JANS – Madison Johnson, a Clinton native, is living her dream of becoming a professional dancer with the renowned New Orleans PelSquad, the official dance team of the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans. 

In May 2023, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. During her time in college, Johnson excelled in various roles, including serving as a residential assistant and holding a position on the executive board of the student dance organization. She also achieved the honor of being crowned the 2023 USM Miss Black and Old Gold. In addition, Johnson became a valued member of the Mighty Mu Nu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, where she assumed the role of the 2022-2023 step team & performances coordinator.

In the summer of 2023, Johnson contributed her skills to the USA International Ballet Competition of Jackson as the Dance School Administrative Assistant, further solidifying her commitment to the world of dance.

Johnson is a member of Clinton High School’s Class of 2019 where she served on the student council, cheer team, and the Attache Show Choir. She is beloved by her parents, Sherwin and Vera Johnson, and brother, William.
