Thank You, Lord! You have allowed us to see another year.

I appreciate the many lessons learned and the numerous memories that were made last year and therefore 2023 owes me nothing. I intentionally reached out to the ones I wanted to keep in contact with heading into the new year, sending them positive vibes, words of affirmation, and good energy. And for the first time in the longest time, I spent the final moments of the year with my family.

Call me superstitious, but I once was told whomever you choose to watch the ball drop with will have an incredible impact on your life the following year. For that reason alone, I couldn’t have chosen a better place to be – around genuine love and kindness. Something the world needs at the moment. That and a little empathy.

I have personally deemed 2024 my “Mamba Year.” Purposely named after the late great basketball legend Kobe Bryant, this signifies how laser focused I am on what matters the most to me. My family, my friends, my career, and my salvation. I encourage you all to do the same.

One of the most powerful lessons I’ve ever learned was how beautiful the process of dealing with regret is and how fulfilling it feels to mend previously tarnished relationships. Confronting situations that often made me feel uncomfortable or less than, and having those difficult conversations with myself and others, signified a shift in my character. Thus, that growth prompted me to adopt the “Mamba Mentality” and apply it to my everyday life.

“The most important thing, the thing that unites all of us, is that we can INSPIRE and CHALLENGE one another TO BE BETTER.” – Kobe Bryant

So lastly, to the readers and supporters of this great publication, I challenge you. Break away from the mundane; break away from what’s convenient. Break away from all the things that prevent you from being the best version of yourself. In 2024, it’s time to elevate! No more excuses, no more half-hearted efforts. This is a season of change, growth, and advancement.

I love you all and let’s make 2024 the best year ever!
