On Aug. 3rd, community leaders, elected officials, healthcare partners and residents gathered to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Congressman Bennie G. Thompson Health & Wellness Center, a 23,000 square foot facility that expands access to quality healthcare in Yazoo County and the Mississippi Delta. The new center offers a full range of services under one roof, including primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, behavioral health, dental care, podiatry, WIC services, sonography with 3D imaging, and an in house drive thru pharmacy. The facility also features an indoor walking track, demonstration kitchens and community wellness spaces designed to promote healthier lifestyles. During the ceremony, G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center officially dedicated the building in honor of Congressman Bennie G. Thompson, recognizing his longstanding support and leadership in helping secure federal funding to make the project a reality. “I was humbled to join the G.A.
