On Jul. 17th, Film JXN Youth Summer Camp gave students a behind the scenes look at the filmmaking process as they entered the pre-production phase of creating their original short films. Hosted by the City of Jackson Film Office in partnership with 1245 Works, Inc. and United Way of the Capital Area, the two week camp provided hands on experience in storytelling, directing, cinematography, sound, editing and other key aspects of film production. Campers worked together in professional crew roles, developing production plans and preparing their projects for filming. The program continues to inspire the next generation of filmmakers by introducing young people to careers in Mississippi’s growing film, television and digital media industries.
