JANS – Dr. Michelle Owens has been named the new President of the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure (2023-2025). The Jackson resident is a Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialist at UMMC.

Dr. Owens received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. 

She is the current National Assistant Secretary of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. 

Dr. Owens is married to Jody Owens, II and they have three children.
