On Oct. 27th, The Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence (MCADV) held its Annual Candlelight Vigil at the Mississippi State Capitol in Jackson in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The event brought together survivors, families, advocates and community partners to honor lives lost to domestic violence, recognize survivors and highlight the importance of safety, healing and prevention. Jackson Mayor John Horhn and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones joined MCADV for the vigil on the Capitol’s South Steps. The annual gathering also highlighted the need for continued survivor support, community partnerships and domestic violence prevention efforts across Mississippi.
