Applications now open for new JXN Water Academy

JANS – JXN Water announces the launch of the Water Academy, a unique learning opportunity designed specifically for JXN Water customers. 

Applications opened with the first session expected to start this summer.  

Through the JXN Water Academy, participants will learn about water and sewer management and have direct interaction with water experts. At the end of the academy, participants will have the opportunity to visit the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Plant, getting behind-the-scenes access and insights into water treatment operations.  

“Education fosters positive change. The Water Academy is an important step forward for our public education efforts and building opportunities for the community to understand the water system better,” said Ted Henifin, JXN Water Interim Third-Party Manager. 

“We are excited to launch the Water Academy and provide our community with the knowledge and tools they need to become informed about the ongoing process of changing our water system for the better,” said Aisha Carson, JXN Water Social Impact Strategist, 

JXN Water will offer the academy each quarter. Participants will complete the entire program within three months, covering five key topics:  

Introduction to Our Mission and Operating Water Infrastructure 

Water Quality and Resource Management  

Water Operations and Distribution at O.B. Curtis and J.H. Fewell Water Plants  

Wastewater Services and Maintaining Sewer Systems 

Billing and Customer Service  

Landlords and restaurant owners have an ad hoc module available that is unique to their water needs and catered to their participation in the academy.  JXN Water will accept applications on a rolling basis, and all customers with a JXN Water account in good standing can apply.
