JANS – As the Jackson Heart Study (JHS) celebrates its 25th anniversary, there’s a big sigh of relief at Tougaloo College. “Our JHS Training and Education Center (TEC) at Tougaloo College has been renewed for the next 10 years!” said a jovial Dr. Wendy White, Principal Investigator of the Tougaloo TEC.

For 25 years, the JHS TEC at Tougaloo College has played a vital role in preparing the next generation of leaders through hands-on training, mentorship, and research opportunities in the nation’s largest study of cardiovascular disease among African Americans.

“We are honored to continue this historic partnership with the JHS participants, our JHS collaborators, our students, and the Jackson community – building healthier futures for Mississippi and beyond,” added Dr. Kisa Harris, Co-Principal Investigator of the Tougaloo TEC.
