The costs of war: Part I

War carries enormous costs of blood and treasure.

Since February 2026 when the USA Department of War began sending missiles and fighter jets to drop bombs on Iranian people, reportedly more than 3,600 Iranians have been killed and 33,000 injured. The vast majority are civilians. 

UNICEF reports that among these innocents killed are more than 200 children. More than 2,500 children have been seriously injured. 

The USA Department of War reports the number of USA soldiers killed is 18, and nearly 700 are injured.   

Since February 2026, according to https://iran-cost-ticker.com/, the USA military has already spent more than $113 Billion on its war against the Iranian people.  

According to https://iranwarcost.watson.brown.edu/, USA residents have already spent $78 Billion more for gas and diesel fuel because of the USA’s war against the Iranian people. 

Per USA household, the fuel cost increases average nearly $600. USA residents also are experiencing increased costs for food and other commodities because of the war against Iranian people.
