On Oct. 16th, State and city officials gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of Nissan Cafe by John Tierre Hospitality at the Two Mississippi Museums in downtown Jackson. The new eatery is a partnership involving John Tierre Hospitality, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services’ Business Enterprise Program. The cafe will offer Southern inspired cuisine, including daily lunch specials, while providing another dining option for downtown workers, museum visitors and the surrounding community. The opening also represents an opportunity to support local business development and expand employment opportunities in Jackson. Nissan Cafe is located at 222 North Street, on the campus of the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. The cafe is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The new establishment adds to downtown Jackson’s dining scene and continues efforts to strengthen the city’s business and hospitality sector.
