The Best of Canton launches weeklong awards celebration

JANS – The City of Canton will shine brightly in August 2026 as The Best of Canton launches its inaugural Weeklong Awards Celebration, honoring excellence, legacy, and community impact. This historic event is hosted by The Best of Mississippi Awards in partnership with the City of Canton Board of Aldermen and the Honorable Mayor Tim Taylor.

The celebration will begin on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, with Pray Canton, a community prayer walk around the Canton Square from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The week will continue with a virtual spotlight series recognizing outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations whose contributions reflect the heart and progress of Canton, proudly known as the “City of Lights.”

The weeklong celebration will culminate on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, 6:00 p.m., at The House of Ora, 175 West Peace Street, Canton, with the Best of Canton Awards Gala, where honorees will be formally recognized for their outstanding contributions. 

The Best of Canton was created to restore honor, celebrate legacy, and spotlight excellence across generations.
