Remember, Lest We Forget: Kisiah Nolan
Kisiah Nolan, a trailblazing educator and dedicated leader whose lifelong service helped shape generations of scholars, educators, and school communities, succumbed January 23, 2026. She was born March 12, 1937.
A Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, 4:30-6:30 p.m., at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home, 1525 Beasley Road, Jackson, MS. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, 11:00 a.m., at Koinonia Baptist Church, 4935 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, MS.
Mrs. Nolan devoted more than four decades of service to Jackson Public Schools, serving in numerous roles including teacher at Walton Elementary, Johnson Elementary, Lester Elementary, and Boyd School; Assistant Coordinator; Principal at Whitfield School and Pecan Park Elementary; and Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools. She later continued her commitment to public education as a member of the Jackson Public Schools Board of Trustees from 2009 to 2014.
Her leadership, passion for learning, and unwavering dedication to scholar success leave a lasting legacy across the district. Mrs. Nolan’s impact will be felt for generations through the countless lives she touched and the leaders she helped develop.
