Nolan Wells’ family retains Ben Crump to uncover truth in 4th of July tragedy

JANS – On July 4, 18-year old Nolan Xavier Wells went on a holiday boating trip with friends to Horn Island, MS. At some point that day, fun turned into tragedy. Panic set in when he didn’t return home that night as expected, leading his mother to call the authorities.

After a two-day search involving local, state, and federal agencies, Nolan’s body was recovered. The cause of his death has not been determined, and the investigation remains active.

Nolan’s parents have retained famed civil rights attorney Ben Crump to conduct an independent review of the circumstances surrounding  their son’s death. They are seeking answers and transparency.

“We’ve been retained by the family of Nolan Wells – a beloved son, teammate, and friend who went out to celebrate the Fourth of July and never came home. The wide receiver at Southwest Mississippi Community College was preparing to return for the upcoming football season and would have turned 19 next month. His family deserves answers,” says Crump.

“They deserve the truth. We will not rest until every fact about what happened to Nolan on Horn Island is brought into the light, and we call on investigators to pursue this case with the urgency and transparency this family deserves.”

Crump is also counsel for the family of Kohen Wiley, the 1-year-old who was killed in an officer involved shooting in Senatobia, MS last month.
