Attendees will experience interactive educational sessions, a dynamic “Legacy Across Oceans” symposium, and a full day of cultural enrichment, celebrating the extraordinary story of Prince Abdul Rahman IBN Sori, a Fulani prince whose life journey tied together Africa and America across centuries.

Descendants of Prince Abdul Rahman from across North America will be joined by members of the Diaspora USA and a special Delegation of Elders from Timbo, Guinea, West Africa – the ancestral home of Prince Abdul Rahman. This historic reunion marks a significant moment of reconnection, heritage celebration, and transatlantic unity.

Ibrahima was a Muslim prince from Timbo, West Africa, who was captured in his homeland and sold to slave traders. He arrived in Natchez in 1788, where he was sold to Thomas Foster. Ibrahima spent 40 years enslaved on Foster’s plantation before he and wife Isabella gained their freedom in 1828. They sailed to Monrovia, Liberia, in 1829, where he died of a disease. He was 67.
