Mitzi Dease Paige elected International Secretary of AKA

Mississippi celebrates a moment of extraordinary pride as one of its own, Mitzi Dease Paige of Jackson, has been elected International Secretary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, one of the organization’s highest-ranking international offices.
Secretary Paige was elected during the 72nd International Conference, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, July 18-24, 2026. She received the majority vote from delegates across the globe. Her election reflects the confidence of the international sisterhood and a lifetime of unwavering service, visionary leadership, and steadfast commitment to Alpha Kappa Alpha’s enduring mission of service to all mankind.
Her journey in Alpha Kappa Alpha began during her undergraduate college years, when she was initiated into the Sweet Mu Pi Chapter at Spelman College, joining a sisterhood that would become both her calling and her lifelong platform for servant leadership. Upon returning to Mississippi, she affiliated with Beta Delta Omega Chapter in Jackson, where she faithfully served in numerous leadership capacities, including chapter president and undergraduate advisor for the Glamorous Gamma Rho Chapter at Jackson State University.
Her remarkable record of service continued to expand when she was elected the 25th South Eastern Regional Director in 2018.
Secretary Paige has attended more than 40 International Conferences, participated in over 80 Regional Conferences, and devoted more than four decades of faithful service to advancing the mission, programs, and legacy of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Her election to the International Directorate is a fitting recognition of a life characterized by integrity, humility, scholarship, and distinguished service.
Beyond her impressive sorority accomplishments, Secretary Paige is deeply rooted in family. She is the devoted wife of James Paige, the beloved daughter of William Dease and the late Dr. Barbara Dease, and the proud mother of three daughters who are also members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated – Bria, Amber, and Kellen Paige. Her family reflects a beautiful legacy of sisterhood, leadership, and service passed down from one generation to the next.
Her election is more than a personal achievement, it is a milestone for the City of Jackson, the State of Mississippi, the South Eastern Region, and every member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Her distinguished career stands as an inspiration to young women everywhere that faithful service, perseverance, and unwavering dedication are always worthy investments.
