On Aug. 22nd, The Mississippi Sickle Cell Foundation celebrated a major milestone with its 30th Anniversary Pearl Gala, bringing together community leaders, healthcare advocates and supporters to honor three decades of serving Mississippi families impacted by sickle cell disease. The evening featured Dr. Claude Brunson, former Board Chair, community leader and healthcare advocate, as the featured speaker. Emmy-nominated journalist and award-winning news anchor Kayla Thompson served as host for the celebration. Held at the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, the gala highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing work providing transportation assistance, emergency support, Camp Sickle Stars, educational programs, advocacy and year round services.
