GALLERY – Students and families gathered at the Walter Payton Health & Recreation Complex for the Mississippi Charities Back to School Knowledge & Resource Fair

On Jul. 25th, students and families gathered at the Walter Payton Health & Recreation Complex for the Mississippi Charities Back to School Knowledge & Resource Fair, a free community event connecting attendees with educational resources, wellness services and back to school support. Among the event’s highlights was Jackson native Bostic Poindexter’s life sized version of “The Road to Financial Freedom,” an interactive financial literacy game designed to teach students practical money management skills through hands on gameplay. Participants navigated the oversized board, turning financial education into an engaging experience while emphasizing the importance of building strong financial habits at an early age. The fair also featured designated areas focused on education, health and wellness, agriculture, culinary arts, personal care and financial wellness, bringing together community partners to help students and families prepare for the upcoming school year.
