On Sep. 15th, St. Dominic’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit participated in the Babies with Books NICU Read-A-Thon, which is being held between September 14th through the 24th, as part of a global initiative encouraging parents, caregivers and volunteers to read to babies in the NICU. This year’s theme, “Oh, Baby, the Places You’ll Go,” marked St. Dominic’s fourth consecutive year participating in the program, which promotes early literacy, family engagement and early brain development. Last year, St. Dominic’s ranked second among 249 participating hospitals worldwide after recording 1,144 reading sessions. (Advocate Photos: Joshua Martin)
