GALLERY – as part of a Harmony Talks Jackson visit, representatives from the Town of Benoit toured the International Museum of Muslim Cultures in Jackson

On Sept. 16, as part of a Harmony Talks Jackson visit, representatives from the Town of Benoit toured the International Museum of Muslim Cultures in Jackson. The museum visit provided an opportunity for guests to learn about the history, culture and experiences of Muslim communities and explore exhibits highlighting the global diversity of Muslim cultures. Also in attendance was Assma Ali, a Muslim who was recently appointed and sworn in as a municipal court judge in the Town of Benoit. The visit was part of a daylong Jackson experience focused on hospitality, cultural learning, thoughtful connection and practical next steps. The itinerary also included stops at the Jackson Welcome Center and Patton House and Gallery, followed by a Harmony Talks session.
