FBI RAID IN THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA
By Angela Buckner
During the early morning hours of October 30, 2025, across a tri-county area in the Mississippi Delta residents were awaken by loud sirens and bullhorns. Various law enforcement officials were demanding individuals inside homes come outside because warrants had been issued for their arrest.
Federal authorities then arrested 20 individuals. Those arrested are current police officers or former law enforcement agents. They are accused of allowing safe transport to alleged drug traffickers or cartel members.
Multiple law enforcement agents from Humphreys, Sunflower, and Washington counties were rounded up on serious allegations involving a multi-year investigation of bribery and drug trafficking. Those arrested were transported to Oxford, MS, where they were processed and released on bond with the understanding they will appear in court.
A press conference was held at the U.S. Attorney Office of the Northern District of Mississippi. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) “announced the arrests of multiple individuals in connection with the Mississippi Delta Drug Conspiracy Takedown.” The presser revealed residents were complaining about being required to pay bribes continuously to particular law enforcement agents.
Two sheriffs, Bruce Williams of Humphreys County and Milton Gaston of Washington County, have been accused of accepting bribes for providing safe passage of illegal drugs. In Sunflower County, Marvin Flowers, servingas the Chief Deputy, was arrested as well.
Other named persons arrested include former Mississippi State Trooper Marquivious Bankhead, Chaka Gaines, Martavis Moore, Wendell Johnson, Dequarian Smith, Jamario Sanford, Brandon Addison, Javery Howard, Truron Grayson, Sean Williams, Dexture Franklin, Jeremy Sallis, Torio Chaz Wiseman, Derrik Wallace, Aasahn Roach, and Marcus Nolan.
The defendants’ arraignments are set for December 2025.
