When it comes to the next President and Vice President of the United States of America, we are claiming victory for U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz because we’re not going back!

Since his first campaign for Congress, the Jackson Advocate has always supported the candidacy of Bennie G. Thompson. This remains the case as he seeks his 16th term representing Mississippi’s 2nd Congressional District. His unwavering commitment to the people of Mississippi, his courageous adherence to the principles and promises embedded in the U.S. Constitution, and his vision for America are just three of the reasons he is the best candidate for this job.

Although I’ve never had a conversation with Ty Pinkins, our (and other news outlets’) coverage of him shows his willingness and capability to serve well the interests of Mississippians’ and the entire nation as our next U.S. Senator. We support his candidacy.

For the Mississippi State Supreme Court, it is fitting to allow Justice Jim Kitchens to finish what he started some 16 years ago. We encourage our readers to vote for him so that he can continue to love on his community in such a profound fashion.

When it comes to the Hinds County’s judicial race, as Dr. Aaron E. Henry always said, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” We endorse Judge Pieter Teeuwissen as he strives to address the enormous number of pending civil cases his court is charged with bringing closure.

We also encourage our readers to vote for Jermal Clark as Hinds County Election Commissioner, District 3. While serving in this position, he has worked to protect the voting rights of his constituents.

It’s imperative that we all vote on November 5, 2024.

Don’t despair, victory is in the air!
