The Jackson community is mourning the loss of Dr. Elayne Hayes-Anthony, a trailblazing educator, former interim president at Jackson State University and longtime journalism professor. Dr. Hayes-Anthony was also a pioneer in television news and spent decades mentoring and shaping the careers of hundreds of communications students at universities across Mississippi. Her impact on media, education and generations of young journalists will not be forgotten.
