CPSD receives Mississippi Association of Partners in Education 2025-2026 Governor’s Award for Exemplary Partnerships
The Canton Public School District received the Mississippi Association of Partners in Education 2025-2026 Governor’s Award for Exemplary Partnerships for their collaborative efforts with the Mississippi Schools for the Deaf and the Blind.
Superintendent Dwight Luckett, Exceptional Services Director Dr. Shannon Smith, and the CPSD Board of Trustees accepted Governor Tate Reeves’ prestigious award at the district’s July board meeting.
Recognizing the district as a valued community partner, LaMarlon Wilson, MSDB Superintendent of Education, said, “On behalf of the Mississippi Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (MSDB), we extend our sincere appreciation for your continued partnership and unwavering commitment to serving students across the State of Mississippi.
“This prestigious recognition reflects the strength of the partnerships we have built with school districts like yours, all working together to ensure that students who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, or deafblind receive the specialized educational services they need to thrive. We thank the district for its commitment to educational excellence and inclusion. Thank you for your trust, collaboration, and dedication to the students and families we collectively serve.”
Superintendent Luckett and Dr. Smith say they are truly honored by this special recognition. They look forward to continuing a partnership with MSDB to fulfill the mission of empowering students to achieve their fullest potential.
