Few 35-year-old African American women can say they own three businesses that have thrived before and during the pandemic. But, Bridget Sallie Palmer can, since she is building a business empire.
A native of Jackson, MS, she has adopted rural Flora, MS as the home base for her three businesses. At present, Bridget Sallie Palmer owns and operates Sallie Roberts Wellness Clinic (started 2020), Sallie & Associates Consulting, LLC (2011), and Penn’s Fish House (franchise, 2021).
All three businesses are located at 740 Highway 49, Suite E, A, and B in the Cotton Exchange Plaza. Palmer says, “I started Sallie & Associates Consulting (medical billing) in 2011 to help others know how to go into business and to increase business revenue. I began Sallie Roberts Wellness Clinic as a tribute to my parents, Ms. Nancy Roberts (Fouche) and Mr. Leon Sallie, because they supported and encouraged me in all my endeavors during childhood and as an adult. The colors red and black are my parents’ favorite colors and I incorporate these colors throughout my businesses with signage and logos to advertise my businesses.”
Palmer is a graduate of Madison Central High School and Delta State University (2008) with a degree in Healthcare Administration. Additionally, she has obtained certifications in Emergency Medicine, Clinical Pathology, Lymphatic Cavitation, and Therapeutic Massage.
The Sallie Roberts Wellness Clinic is her flagship business that operates with a total of three employees. At present, it offers services that include (Non-invasive Liposuction {Cavitation}, Lymphatic Drainage, Infertility, and Weight Loss Management {Meal Planning, Supplements, Protein Shakes and Sunna Detox}). Clinic prices range from $30-$1,800 as some services can entail one session and others up to twenty-four sessions with payment plans available.
Palmer states, “I wanted to bring wellness and holistic practices to a rural area such as Flora to combat the debilitating affects of diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, inflammation/arthritis, and other conditions that plague my community. God gave me the spiritual guidance to start my businesses. God told me what I needed to do to fulfill my purpose in life because I am a cervical cancer survivor. I have personal scriptures located throughout my businesses because I always want my clients and/or customers to leave with having received excellent service and the Word of God. As a licensed professional, I want to provide services that are affordable and accessible for everyday people who can’t afford the prices for holistic medicine services found in large urban cities.”
The Sallie Roberts Wellness Clinic has locations in Flora (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 pm.) and Walthall Lofts in downtown Jackson (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.). There is an out-of-state location in Charlotte, NC. Visit www.bridgetsalliepalmer.com for appointments and/or consultations. According to Palmer, “My husband, Antonio Palmer, runs our Penn’s Fish House franchise with my help as needed. We both work to feed the homeless with food giveaways as part of our personal ministry.”
Bridget and Antonio are the proud parents of two girls, McKenzie (8) and Jayla (14).
