Ayana Collins gets new post 

JANS – Ayana Collins was recently selected as the Executive Director of Assets and Property for Jackson Public Schools. In this role, she provides executive leadership and oversight to ensure the accurate and timely accounting of all fixed and accountable assets. She brings over a decade of experience in property management, purchasing, lease management, and contract management.

 In this new role, she is committed to supporting the scholars and educators of the district by ensuring that district assets and resources are managed with integrity, fiscal responsibility, and long-term sustainability to advance the district’s educational mission.

Prior to joining Jackson Public Schools, Collins served as a Regional Property Manager in the private sector, overseeing more than a dozen multifamily communities throughout Mississippi. In this role, she managed day-to-day operations, ensured regulatory compliance, oversaw budgets and vendor contracts, and provided leadership to on-site management teams to promote operational efficiency and performance.

Collins holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Administration in Finance from Jackson State University.

Outside of work, Collins is a wife and mother who enjoys traveling and creating lasting memories.
