Atmos Energy says ‘Thank You’ to Mississippi teachers
Company marks National Teacher Appreciation Week with lunch in 17 cities
JANS – Atmos Energy is celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8, by providing lunch to more than 1,000 teachers and staff at schools across Mississippi.
“Fueling bright minds and healthy futures for our kids is a cornerstone of our ‘Fueling Safe & Thriving Communities’ initiative – and one way we do that is by making sure the people teaching them are taken care of, too. Teachers shape the next generation of Mississippi, and we’re grateful for everything they do,” said Bobby Morgan, vice president of public affairs for Atmos Energy’s Mississippi Division.
Atmos Energy partnered with Newk’s Eatery to provide the meals, with Atmos Energy employees helping deliver lunches to schools and personally thanking teachers for their work.
“This is a great way to say thank you to our teachers, and we appreciate Atmos Energy for taking the time to reach out and provide this service,” said Ms. Adrienne Hudson, Principal of Kirkpatrick Elementary School in Clarksdale. “Too often, organizations wait for schools to ask. It means a lot that Atmos came to us and asked how they could be a blessing to our teachers. It takes a village, and we thank Atmos Energy for being a part of our village.”
Schools receiving lunches are located in Clarksdale, Cleveland, Columbus, Florence, Greenville, Greenwood, Grenada, Horn Lake, Jackson, Kosciusko, Lake Cormorant, Lucedale, Meridian, Natchez, Southaven, Starkville, and Tupelo.
