Atmos Energy ranks #1 in Customer Satisfaction with Residential Natural Gas Service in the Midwest & South Among Large Utilities, according to J.D. Power

JANS – To “be recognized for exceptional customer service” is a stated priority in Atmos Energy’s vision, and the company’s successful focus on this value was further demonstrated this week  when the J.D. Power 2025 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction StudySM ranked Atmos Energy #1 in Customer Satisfaction with Residential Natural Gas Service in the South and Midwest among Large Utilities. In fact, Atmos Energy is the only brand to win customer satisfaction with Residential Natural Gas Service in both the South and Midwest among Large Utilities in the same year.

“It is an incredible achievement for a large utility to rank number one in two regions of the country, and our employees have achieved this milestone by looking for ways to be at their best every single day,” said Mike Dickson, Atmos Energy vice president of customer service. “The South and Midwest regions encompass more than 96 percent of the customers we are honored to serve, so everyone at Atmos Energy is immensely grateful for this recognition from the J.D. Power 2025 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study.”

The 2025 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from 72,765 online interviews conducted from January through October 2025 among residential customers of the 87 largest gas utility brands across the United States, which represent more than 125,000 residential customers. Atmos Energy’s overall customer satisfaction index ranking among large utilities in the South this year is 586, and its overall customer satisfaction index ranking among large utilities in the Midwest is 588.
