Bishop Dr. Arnold Stanton offers prayer at Mississippi House of Representatives

JANS – Bishop Dr. Arnold Stanton Sr. of New Life Evangelical Christian Fellowship, Inc. recently delivered an opening prayer at the Mississippi State House of Representatives. He came at the invitation of Rep. Gregory Holloway . 

Bishop Stanton is the senior pastor/teacher and founder of New Life Evangelical Christian Fellowship, Inc. (New Life Cathedral of Worship), located in Hazlehurst, MS.

He was born in Coahoma County, near Clarksdale, MS, as the 13th of 14 children to his parents, L Z and Lovie Stanton. He accepted his Call to Ministry at the age of 19, nearly 51 years ago, and has been a pastor for over 49 years.

He is married to his wife and partner in ministry, Lillie D. Stanton, for 48 years. They reside in Byram, MS. They have four children and nine grandchildren.

He is a 1972 graduate of Coahoma County High School in Clarksdale, MS, where he played basketball.

He is a 1974 graduate of Coahoma Community College, where he served as Student Government President and received an Associate of Arts degree in General Business.

He is a 1976 Business Administration graduate of Jackson State University and was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2004 by the International Bible College of St. Louis, Missouri.  

Bishop Stanton (Papa Bishop) and Lady Lillie (Mama Lillie) began traveling to Johannesburg, South Africa, in September 2000 and have established the New Life International Fellowship Empowerment, which provides a spiritual fatherly covering for independent pastors and ministries throughout the world.

He is the owner of A & L Enterprises and Blessed Realty, LLC. He is a licensed real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty in Flowood, MS. He also serves as an election commissioner for the City of Byram.
