Mississippi Valley State University to compete in 36th Annual International Verona Choral Competition
JANS – Mississippi Valley State University’s choral students will participate in the prestigious 36th Annual International Verona Choral Competition in Verona, Italy, from March 26 to 31, 2025. This exciting opportunity represents a significant milestone for many students who will fly for the first time and experience international travel.
“Our talented choir is eager to showcase their musical abilities on this global platform. The competition will allow them to demonstrate their vocal talents and immerse themselves in Italy’s rich cultural and musical traditions,” said Dr. Brandon T. Cash, Director of Choral Activities.
“We need support to make this incredible journey possible. The contributions will help provide our students with this transformative experience, expanding their cultural and musical horizons,” Dr. Cash added.
The total estimated cost for participation in the competition is $180,000. Supporters are invited to sponsor a student for $3,600, which will cover their travel, accommodation, and participation fees. This breakdown ensures transparency and helps sponsors understand how their contribution will be utilized. The generosity will directly support a student’s once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on an international stage and bring the wealth of this experience back to the MVSU community.
By sponsoring a student, you not only provide them with a life-changing experience but also gain visibility and recognition as a supporter of the arts and education. “Join us in supporting our choir as they embark on this remarkable journey. With your help, our students will proudly represent MVSU and return with knowledge and memories that will enrich our entire university,” Dr. Cash said.
