Ask for More Jackson celebrates outstanding JPS educators
Ask for More Jackson, with support from the Community Foundation for Mississippi and an anonymous donor, celebrated 10 outstanding Jackson Public Schools educators during its 2026 Outstanding Educators celebration in October.
The annual recognition honors educators whose dedication and commitment make a difference in the lives of scholars and the schools they serve.
This year’s honorees are:
Hannah Adams – McWillie Elementary
Chelsea Hearn-Page – John Hopkins Elementary
Luwanna R. Jones – Spann Elementary
Constance Keys – North Jackson Elementary
Zoe Morrison – Obama Magnet Elementary
Tameka Norman-Moses – Pecan Park Elementary
Jordan Ramirez – Callaway High School
Latasha Russum – JPS Network II
Erica Taylor-Joyner – McLeod Elementary
Constance Washington – Provine High School
The celebration recognized the important role educators play in shaping young minds, supporting academic growth, and creating meaningful learning experiences for scholars. It also highlighted the value of community partnerships in supporting public education and the people who make a difference in classrooms every day.
Founded in 1989 as Parents for Public Schools, the organization built its work around parent engagement, community advocacy, and partnerships that support public education. In 2017, Parents for Public Schools of Jackson separated from the national organization and became Ask for More Jackson, continuing its commitment to advocating for meaningful change in public education.
Today, Ask for More Jackson works with teachers, artists, and community partners to support and enhance student learning through arts education. Its mission reflects the belief that strong schools and thriving communities go hand in hand.
Through this annual celebration, Ask for More Jackson and its partners recognize the educators whose work helps Jackson Public Schools scholars learn, grow, and reach their potential.
