Executive Home Care of Jackson honors local family caregiver through Loved01 Cares initiative
Caroline Cooper recognized for her dedication to caring for her husband of more than 60 years
JANS – Executive Home Care of Jackson recently recognized local family caregiver Caroline Cooper for her extraordinary dedication to caring for her husband, Harold, who is living with severe dementia.
Nakesha Smith of Executive Home Care of Jackson visited Cooper at her home to present her with a special self-care gift set through the Loved01 Cares caregiver recognition initiative.
Cooper and her husband have been married for more than 60 years. As his dementia has progressed, she has taken on the responsibility of caring for him and providing the stable, comfortable home environment he needs. While Cooper is devoted to her husband, she acknowledges that the demands of caregiving can sometimes be overwhelming.
“Mrs. Cooper gives so much of herself every day to make sure her husband is cared for and comfortable,” said Smith. “We wanted her to know that her dedication is seen and appreciated, and to encourage her to take a little time to care for herself as well.”
Executive Home Care of Jackson, owned by Kenneth Austin, participated in the Loved01 Cares initiative as part of a broader caregiver recognition effort involving Executive Home Care and Assisted Living Locators. The campaign celebrates family caregivers and recognizes the important role they play in supporting loved ones.
“Family caregivers often put their own needs aside because they are so focused on the person they love,” said Austin. “Caroline’s story is a wonderful example of that devotion. It was an honor for our team to recognize her and remind her that caregivers deserve care, too.”
