32nd Annual Lynch Street Cultural Arts Festival

JANS – West Jackson CDC (West Jackson Community Development Corporation) held its 32nd Annual Lynch Street Cultural Arts Festival April 25-26, 2025, in the historic Lynch Street District in Jackson, MS. The festival is the signature event of the West Jackson CDC and is free to festival goers of all ages who come from near and far. 

This year’s top acts were Willie Clayton, O.B. Buchana, and Stefunie. Also adding to a day of celebrating African American culture included GOSPEL: J. Swagg the Prophet, Christine Funches, Elder Jimmy Graves, Prosperity Records, BreDaG, and Minister John Taylor; and R&B/SOUL: Greg Pippin & Smooth Funk Band, Time to Move Band, and 601 Press Play.

At one point and time, Lynch Street was hailed as one of Mississippi’s most thriving, progressive business districts. “This festival gives us an opportunity to celebrate the heritage and history of this community,” commented Linda H. Carter, CEO/Executive Director of West Jackson CDC. “Our organization is very proud to be part of its continued history.”

The weekend kicked off with a Cabaret Style Banquet held at the M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge Masonic Temple, 1072 John R. Lynch Street, featuring “Willie Clayton & Stefunie”.

The festival also featured a community health fair, children’s village, and several vendors.

West Jackson CDC is a community-based, private non-profit organization which provides housing, economic development, social services, and leadership development to the West Jackson area.
