Action Communication and Education Reform, Inc., presented the 2021 Grassroots Blues Festival, held July 9-10 in Duck Hill, MS, celebrating 19 years of bringing Mississippians and neighboring states together through music. Although there were plenty of musicians keeping festival goers on their feet, it was the forever young Bobby Rush who made them want to kick off their shoes and dance the night away! The annual event is the brainchild of Al White, who recently was elected as mayor of Duck Hill. This year’s performers were: Bobby Rush, Barry “Pine” Blakely & the Duck Hill Billies, RL Boyce, Mark “Muleman” Massey featuring Billy Earhart, Willie Earl Hulbert & the Fingerprint Band, Lady Trucker, Lewis Johnson & The No Name Band, The Nellie Mack Project, Stevie J, Little Willie Farmer, and the Oxford All-Stars. Sponsors included: Mississippi Arts Commission, National Endowment for the Arts, One Voice, Southern Echo, Dixie Roofing Inc., Visit Mississippi, Blues Festival Guide Magazine, Music Maker Relief Foundation, Town of Duck Hill, Edwin Taylor & Son Logging, Mississippi Blues Foundation, Joe Sutherland Engineering & Surveying, Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, Robert Hankins Wrecker Service, Willis Engineering, Friends of Congressman Bennie Thompson, Townes Ready Mix, Ashley Furniture, and
