Rev. Larry Thompson
Larry Thompson was born on September 30, 1950, to the late Mary Ella Greer Thompson and George Hampton Thompson Sr. He was the fourth child of ten children. Rev. Thompson confessed his love for Christ at a young age at Mt. Hood M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. M. S. Alexander.
He attended Sumner Hill High School for his education and he later obtained his high school diploma at Jackson State Continuing Education. He loved to cook, sing, be around his family, and spread the Word of God. He departed this life on April 14, 2026, at St. Dominic Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, James Thompson, Jessie Thompson, Mark Thompson, and George Thompson Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Ella Ree Thompson; three children, Venikea, Marcus, and Larry Jr. of Jackson, MS; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five sisters, Clara Mae Lewis, Bobbie Jean (Tommie) James, Annie Jean Johnson, Jackie Faye (Rickey) Wells, and Donna Marie (Mack) Ferrell of Clinton, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
