MOTIVATIONAL MONDAYS IN THE MARKETPLACE

By Dr. Kathy Amos

DELAYED, BUT NOT DENIED
When God Has the Final Say

Have you ever assumed an opportunity was lost because it did not happen when you expected?

This past weekend, while ministering in Port Allen, Louisiana, I experienced a moment that renewed my understanding of God’s timing.

As I approached the podium, I overheard the ministry leader who invited me tell my husband that her husband had been laid to rest exactly ten years earlier that day.

About a year before his passing, he had invited me to speak. I believed that invitation could open an important door in my ministry. But he became ill and later passed away. The engagement never happened.

Yet there I stood, ten years to the day after his burial, speaking in his church.

Before I could minister to others, God was ministering to me.

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS DOES NOT EXPIRE

Second Corinthians 1:20 reminds us that God’s promises in Christ are Yes and Amen. Every opportunity we desire is not necessarily a divine promise, but what God has spoken remains trustworthy.

That weekend also opened doors and provided great resources. As I reflected on the timing and provision, I sensed the Lord assuring me that a season of delay and lack was ending, and new opportunities, Kingdom relationships, and resources were unfolding.

I received that encouragement personally, but the testimony holds something for every discouraged leader: disappointment does not have to determine your future.

REMAIN READY WHILE YOU WAIT

Business owners, ministry leaders, and community builders across Mississippi know the weight of interrupted plans. Contracts fall through. Invitations disappear. Relationships change.

But do not let an old disappointment make you unavailable for a new instruction.

Galatians 6:9 encourages us to continue doing good without growing weary. Keep developing your skills, serving with integrity, strengthening relationships, and stewarding what is already in your hands.

Ask yourself: What have I labeled “lost” simply because it did not happen on my timeline?

This week, take one faithful step. Finish the proposal. Revisit the vision. Complete the assignment.

Your blessing may be delayed, but it will never be denied when God has the final say.
