JANS – On Sept. 9, 2026, G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center and Holmes Community College celebrated the official ribbon cutting and open house of the new G.A. Carmichael Community/Student Health Center, located on the Holmes Community College Goodman Campus. Prayer was offered by Gregory Moseley, Chair of the G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center Executive Board, followed by remarks from Dr. James L. Coleman Jr., CEO of G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center; Dr. Jim Haffey, President of Holmes Community College; and Mr. Michael Howard, Mayor of Goodman.
Following the ceremony, Mr. Darrius Skinner, Goodman Site Manager, welcomed guests inside for an open house and refreshments.
“This partnership is about much more than opening a new health center, it is about bringing quality, convenient healthcare directly to where people live, learn, work, and grow,” stated Dr. Coleman. “Through our partnership with Holmes Community College, we are proud to expand access to care for students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding Goodman community.”
Dr. Calvin Ramsey, Internal Medicine Physician with G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center, will provide care at the Goodman Campus location, helping ensure that quality healthcare is right where it is needed.
“We are grateful to Holmes Community College for sharing our vision of healthier students and stronger communities. Together, we are removing barriers, expanding access, and creating new opportunities for people to prioritize their health,” said Dr. Ramsey.
