Atmos Energy and Mississippi Grammy Museum partner to expand educational access for students across the state

JANS – On Aug. 13, Atmos Energy and the Grammy Museum (800 W. Sunflower Road, Cleveland, MS) gathered to unveil a new three-year, $50,000 partnership that will help expand educational access for students across the state. The commitment includes $25,000 in education scholarships – helping school groups from throughout Mississippi offset transportation and admission costs to visit the Museum over the next three school years – with the remaining support strengthening the Museum’s Education Endowment for future outreach and educational access initiatives. 

Each year, the Grammy Museum serves thousands of students through interactive educational programs, workshops, and Museum experiences designed to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and cultural understanding through music. Scholarship support helps schools remove financial barriers to Museum visits, ensuring students from communities across Mississippi – including underserved areas – can engage with programming that aligns with Mississippi educational standards.

Developed by the Cleveland Music Foundation – a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 – the 28,000-square-foot Grammy Museum is housed near the campus of Delta State University, home of the Delta Music Institute’s Entertainment Industry Studies program, which features the most unique audio recording facilities in the South. Affiliated with the Grammy Museum Foundation, Grammy Museum Mississippi is dedicated to exploring the past, present, and future of music, and the cultural context from which it emerges, while casting a focused spotlight on the deep musical roots of Mississippi.
