Celebrating their 100th: Coltrane and Davis

Born 100 years ago in 1926, internationally renowned jazz giants John Coltrane and  Miles Davis took the world by storm. Their music’s message reflects people’s struggles and dreams, resonating with audiences around the globe.

On October 26, at 6:00 PM, Opera Mississippi will salute these jazz legends  by presenting Centennial Giants: Coltrane & Davis, at Duling Hall, 622 Duling Avenue, Jackson, MS.

John Coltrane recorded more than 40 albums, and sold at least 3 million copies. Miles Davis recorded at least 60 albums, and sold nearly 10 million copies.

Their music is reaching the next generation of jazz fans – untold numbers of  downloads of their music still occur daily. Opera Mississippi invites the community to join the celebration of these extraordinary artists.
