Jackson State bowling tops NTCA All-Academic Scholar teams

JANS – The Jackson State women’s bowling team clinched the highest team GPA award among NTCA-affiliated (National Tenpin Coaches Association) NCAA Bowling programs. The Tigers finished with an exceptional cumulative team GPA of 3.777 for the 2023-2024 academic term.

Leading the academic charge at Jackson State were standout scholars Stephanie Vasquez, a graduate student from Hollister, California, pursuing a master’s in Social Work; Taiona Farmer-Jackson, a senior from Lewisville, Texas, focusing on Communicative Disorders; Juliana Rincon, a junior from Cali, Colombia, majoring in Journalism and Media Studies with a focus on Sport Media; Catalina Tover, a junior from Bogotá, Colombia, specializing in Computer Science; and Amya Anderson, a sophomore from Huntsville, Alabama, concentrating on Management. 

Every academic year, the National Tenpin Coaches Association commends NCAA bowling teams for their academic prowess. To be eligible, programs must maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher and remain active members of the NTCA. A commendable sixty-one (61) bowling programs have met this distinguished standard this year.
